Born in India, and after graduating from New York
University in 1961 with a master’s degree
in Business administration, I was happily settled
in London, with a nice consultancy job for a financial
group of companies for 23 years. My family life
was fulfilled with excellent relationship with my
wife, children and elders and exciting creative
hobbies such as photography and music. Life’s
Journey was smooth but at times I felt that in a
sense there was something lacking in it. I did not
know what.
It all began in 1995, when my wife decided to call
a Feng Shui consultant to our home for advice, when
I hardly understood the meaning of self-transformation.
I am glad I did not scoff as after we made few changes;
I found that things changed remarkably for better.
Followers of Feng Shui believe that invisible cosmic
energy forces called ‘Chi’ influence
our lives and by using Feng Shui principles in your
environment you can not only lift the energy of
your home to make it harmonious and supportive but
also fulfil your goals and aspirations.
The literal meaning of Feng Shui is wind water
or, in terms your own personal energy, it can be
compared to your blood and breath. When
the quality of these in your body is imbalanced,
you feel unwell, you see your doctor. He would prescribe
some medication, diet, an exercise regimen and sleep
to rebalance energy and vitality.
A Feng Shui consultant does the same thing by prescribing
plants, colours, mirrors, crystals, water fountains,
pictures, sculptures, wind chimes and so on, in
order that the energy in your environment is rebalanced
and that your home or your office becomes supportive.
In order to do this effectively, he even looks at
your date of birth to see your heaven’s energy
or the energy of your time through your life’s
journey so that you take advantage of your auspicious
time frames to be in the right place at the right
time. In this entire process, a Feng Shui consultant
needs to ask you to do some self-reflection
analysis so that he can see what you wish to
achieve or upgrade in your life to be happier. Image
precedes reality and our creativity is limited only
by our imagination and hence visualisation process
is also important.
‘The future belongs to those who
believe in the beauty of their dreams’.
-Eleanor Roosevelt
Having understood this fascinating subject outline,
in 1996, I enrolled for a correspondence course
with my Guru, William Spear based in Connecticut,
USA. His first question for me was to do the self-reflection
analysis and rate all the 9 areas of my life, by
giving points out of 10. They are wealth, fame,
relationships, creativity, helpful friends, career,
knowledge, relationship with elders and health.
Bearing in mind, that there was something lacking
in my life, I could now pinpoint three areas, which
needed attention: fame, knowledge
(specifically computer related) and helpful
friends. I commenced my Feng Shui Journey to
tackle these.
In 1998, with the pressure of Feng Shui studies
and full time financial consultancy work mounting,
I decided to give up my lucrative financial consultancy
work in order to wholeheartedly pursue Feng Shui.
Soon, I started getting invitations to giving talks
and consultations and also teach the subject to
women’s clubs, as this was the time when there
was a lot of media coverage on Feng Shui. I had
not even done half the course and the doors started
opening for me.
In 2000, Wimbledon Publishing Company approached
me through my Website to see if I was interested
in writing a crisp gift book on the subject for
them. ‘Feng Shui and your Home’,
my first book, sold extremely well both through
shops and via the Internet. I felt I had cracked
the issue of Fame and Recognition even
before completing my course. I was proud to be recognised
as an author.
My efforts for enhancing computer knowledge also
paid off. With utmost determination, I bought a
computer for home at the age of 58 and soon my Website
won a "best of websites" award as my mind
was always racing with technological developments.
To enhance my creative expression, I pioneered the
first Feng Shui Photographic on line gallery of
UK in 2000 with the help and support from an upcoming
photographic lab.
With teaching and consulting as my sources of income,
in 2002, I embarked on authoring and self-publishing
my book titled ‘Feng Shui and Your office’.
By now my confidence was at its highest level. Believing
in what my Guru once said ‘ You can only
take your clients as far as you have gone’-
my skills for empowering my clients became very
useful in helping them get what they wanted in life.
Favourable feedbacks started pouring in and my consultation
boundaries became global with UK, USA, India, Portugal,
Ireland and Kenya becoming parts of my client portfolios.
During my life’s Journey with this rate of
success from 1995 to 2002, there was no need for
me to even think that if I had made plenty of
helpful friends. It became a natural process
as my clients and my students everywhere became
part of my friends’ circle who were now only
a keyboard distance away in this age of e-mail communications.
In my talks, I always mention that we look after
our body by having a regular PPP check up; We look
after our car by having a MOT test every three years
but we hardly ever think whether our environment
(home or office) is harnessing positive energy and
working for us.
Transform your environment and your life with Feng
Shui, and fulfil your goals and aspirations.
‘Life is worth living if we can
make it more beautiful than when we found it’.
- Frank Lloyd Wright.
We cannot direct the wind, but we do have the
power to adjust the sails, to harness the positive
forces to lead us safely to our destination.
