Amy Hill:
" I live in New York City and take pictures of highway signs whenever I can bum a ride, then I alter them. It took me a while to get to highway signs. I started by changing the names of movies on movie marquees (including a horror film called "Marriage"), then moved on to food labels like one for circular hotdogs ("nonphallic, guaranteed inoffensive"), then changed store signs in my neighborhood (I made up one that sells equipment to commit suicide).
But when I finally came to highway signs, they seemed the best suited to what I was doing. They are now refrigerator magnets, postcards, folding cards and Christmas cards and I had a book of them published last year. See my website."
